Dorothee Joachim’s paintings grow slowly through a concentrated process of chromatic layering to arrive at a point of almost silent resolution. Felt, but barely seen, is a complex system of material articulation that results in a radical position that is anything but monochromatic. Dorothee Joachim lives in Cologne; this is her first solo exhibition in the U.S.
